Each GFT represents one already certified and ex-post stored tonne of CO₂ from sustainably managed forests in Europe.

The proceeds from the token sale flow directly to forest owners and finance measures for forest stabilisation and management. Each GFT sold supports at least 100 m² of forest area, increases CO₂ storage capacity, and promotes biodiversity.

The greenfee token was developed in line with the EU’s CRCF framework and is designed with the long-term objective of qualifying for the compliance CO₂ market.

With the presale, this rapidly growing market is being opened to private individuals for the first time—a market that is being newly regulated through the European Green Deal, in particular the CSRD and the CRCF.

The greenfee system is the first to transparently map the entire lifecycle of tokenised CO₂ storage rights—from project development through to retirement. “We have developed the world’s first end-to-end system that represents the GFT completely and without media discontinuities,” emphasises Dr Aschkan Allahgholi, co-founder and CTO.
