Together with TSV 1860 Munich and its fans, we planted trees in the Münsing forest as part of Sustainability Week – a strong signal for active climate protection. Together with backup goalkeeper Paul Bachmann and numerous volunteers, we planted 50 young larches to bind CO2 and strengthen nature. The action shows: sustainability is created through action—through commitment, community, and responsibility.

greenkeeper and TSV 1860 Munich plant trees for the climate together

Münsing, October 2025 – Sustainability requires a mindset. And sometimes, a strong team.

That is why, together with TSV 1860 Munich and its dedicated fan clubs, we planted trees in the Bavarian Oberland as part of the club's Sustainability Week – between Münsing and Höhenrain, in the heart of the Münsing forest. Joining us were loyal "Lions" fans, volunteers, and backup goalkeeper Paul Bachmann, who picked up a spade himself.

Together, 50 young larches were planted to make an active contribution to CO2 sequestration and reforestation.

Why we did it

Our mission at greenkeeper is to make climate protection tangible and traceable – through sustainable forest projects, transparent CO2 certificates, and measurable impact. With this action in the Oberland, we wanted to show: Sustainability doesn’t start with theory, but with doing. Forests are natural carbon sinks – they bind CO2, regulate the climate, protect biodiversity, and create habitats for countless species.

However, due to drought, pest infestation, and land decline, many forests in Germany are under pressure. With targeted measures like this one, we help secure long-term CO2 absorption and stabilize ecosystems.

Sports, community, and responsibility

The fact that a traditional club like TSV 1860 Munich supports such projects shows: Sustainability and sports are a great match – both thrive on passion, commitment, and long-term vision. This makes a planting campaign more than just a nice event: it is a real contribution to CO2 sequestration, ecological diversity, and a climate-resilient future.

We want to say thank you to everyone who was involved – the Lions fans, TSV 1860 Munich, Paul Bachmann, and all the helpers who showed that climate protection is more than just a word, but a shared promise to our future.
